Introduction

The aim of the blog is to keep a track, partly for myself it has to be said, of where i'm at - the ups and downs the wins and losses and see if patterns develop but it'll be good to have a visual record of my poker story. To start with i feel i should give you all the background of how Nade got to where he is today.

I started playing roughly 2years ago - just after my 18th birthday when i ventured online to see what this poker malarky was all about as there was a lot of media attention at the time over poker and gambling in general. It was just a bit of a laugh at first when i started on Victor Chandler i think it was! (yes totally random) I've no idea how i came to be playing on there to start with but anyway it was the STT i was playing first off at about the 10- 25c level. As you can imagine with literally no knowledge of the game at all it didn't start well and it took a while to finish in the top 3 of one of these SNG's, but when i did eventually win one it was with Q5suited - i hit a boat and it instantly became my favourite hand :).

At this time my natural desires to win at anything i do was starting to bubble underneath the surface and so i started to play with the object of winning and so started to concentrate on my game more and more. It was about time really as for the first few months i was playing completely blind as it were, with no guidelines to my game and in a way i think this could have helped to develop my game as i didn't set out a regimented way of playing early on so in my mindset it's possible that i'm able to bring in different aspects into it with a little more ease. There was a marked change in my approach to poker though at this time as there would be times during A-level classes where i'd be thinking of ways to improve my game - it was now starting to become a passion of mine to succeed at the game of NL Hold'em.

The first and so far only poker book i've purchased is a Phil Hellmuth pocket sized thing which has definitely been a help and has set out some clear foundations by which i play and i still sometimes like to dip in to the book and read on a technique or strategy and see if it can fit in my game. Mainly though i get my strategy advice through PL and various poker articles now.

After a break of about 3months when i became bored of the game i came back onto VC again but things started to click and i was winning pretty consistently at the $1 STT level. By this time i'd started to gamble on the footie (my main passion) and that's how i came about PL to be honest i was looking for gambling tips sites and the like and came across PL and posted in the betting section for a few weeks and ignored the poker section (don't really know why) Through Paddypower i was betting on the footie and now playing poker on the same network as VC used then took a few week break again from the poker but came back to see the software had changed to what i now know as ipoker. Simply it was the best site i'd played poker on thus far for look and cards etc.

Anyway to conclude because i'm as bored as you are (i'd be amazed if anyone has read this far :) I'm probably playing better poker now then ever (after a sticky week that ppl on PL know about) and my aim is to improve every time i play and win a lot!

Cheers.
